Three Premier League Teams Interested in Lille Defender Zeki Celik

A trio of Premier League teams are interested in signing Lille right-back Zeki Celik, according to reports. Simon Collings of the London Evening Standard reports that Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are keen on the Turkey international, who is valued at around £13 million.

On the Move After Title Win

Celik was part of the Lille team who dethroned Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 this season as they won the French title. Despite this, he is expected to be on the move and is said to be willing to listen to offers from all three of the clubs. Any talks, though, will likely take place after he is finished representing Turkey at Euro 2020.

Arsenal currently possess Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares in the right-back position. Bellerin, though, is seemingly on his way out of the club and, according to Collings, is a target for La Liga side Real Betis. It is currently unknown whether Betis have the finances to pull off the deal, however.

Spurs also currently have two right-backs in Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty. Aurier, though, recently made it clear that he intends to leave this summer despite still having a year remaining on his contract. Doherty, who signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, mostly struggled in his first campaign as he attempted to transition from a right-wingback position to a traditional full-back.

Manchester United’s interest in a right-back has been clear for some time, although it is Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier they have mostly been targeting. Celik may well be on their radar too if they cannot get that Trippier move through.

European Interest

The three Premier League sides are not the only teams keen on Celik. Inter Milan have also been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old.

Inter are fearing that they could lose Achraf Hakimi this summer, with PSG reportedly in negotiations with him.
