Seoane Arrives After Three Successful Years at Young Boys

Seoane has spent all of his career in his home nation of Switzerland both as a player and manager. He played for the likes of Luzern, Grasshoppers and Sion. Seoane moved into coaching and began his career at Luzern taking charge of several youth teams before getting the main job in 2018.

He guided Luzern to third place in his sole season in charge before taking over Young Boys. He replaced current Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hutter at Young Boys and continued the success Hutter started.

Seoane has won two league titles in both seasons in charge. He also led the club to the Swiss domestic double in the 2019/20 season and also guided the club to the Champions League group stage for the first time in their history.

Seoane will inherit a Bayer Leverkusen side who will finish sixth in the Bundesliga. Leverkusen will finish sixth after a strong finish to the season under caretaker manager Hannes Wolf. Die Werkself have collected 12 points from Wolf’s seven matches in charge.

The club will compete in the Europa League next season but Seoane will be tasked with creating a winning team capable of challenging for Champions League football.

Leverkusen’s new coach plays exciting, on the edge attacking football. His credentials speak for themselves but certainly, this will be a challenge for the little-known coach. He fits the profile of manager Leverkusen like to appoint. He will be given the tools to build a vibrant, attacking team.
