Everton the Latest Club to Show Interest in Max Aarons

Aarons Everton

After impressing in the Premier League last season in spite of Norwich City’s relegation, Max Aarons continues to attract those in the market for a new right-back, with Everton the latest club to show interest.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Carlo Ancelotti is on the hunt for a new right-back this summer, with Max Aarons among those listed as potential targets.

They’ll face some hefty competition for his signature, however, with Bayern Munich reportedly opening talks and Manchester United also keeping a close eye.

Could Follow in the Footsteps of Ben Godfrey

After Norwich suffered relegation last season, they were destined to lose, at the very least, one star player. The question that remained all summer was who it could be. Would it be Teemu Pukki? Or, Emi Buendia? Maybe even Max Aarons?

Yet, come the end of the window, and the man to depart was Ben Godfrey to Goodison Park. Since arriving at Everton, too, he has more than proved his worth. His ability to play across the backline has guided Everton through an injury on several occasions, as has his natural ability.

Watching on back in Norwich, ex-teammate Max Aarons could see Godfrey’s improvement at Everton as a sign to follow suit in the summer, especially if the Toffees qualify for Europe.

Aarons Has Big Decision to Make

At 21, Aarons has his whole career ahead of him, making his next move all the more important. He could choose the bigger stage of Bayern Munich but struggle for first-team football.

The same could be said about a move to Manchester United. Realistically, could Aarons take the starting place from Aaron Wan-Bissaka? So, when assessing all the possible transfers, it seems as though Everton is the ideal destination.

With Seamus Coleman ageing, the need for a long-term right-back at Everton is growing, and Aarons could be the ideal solution.
