Luka Modric to Agree New Madrid Contract

Important Player for Los Blancos

The midfielder has once again been an important player for the Spanish side this season, featuring 18 times in the league and nabbing five goal contributions from the centre of midfield to boot.

However, there was speculation in regards to his future, but it appears that he is set to sign a new deal at the La Liga side and the club’s director has further hinted that his future belongs at Madrid.

Been With Real Madrid For Nine Seasons

Speaking after Madrid’s win over Alavés, Butragueno said: “There are players like Modric who make this sport better. His pass to Ferland Mandy in the first half was a fine thing.

“It’s a luxury for us to have him. He’s given us so much; he’s still giving us so much and he’ll continue to do so.”

Modric has of course been with Real Madrid for nine seasons now, having sealed a transfer to the Spanish giants at age 26. Now, at 35-years-old, he still shows no signs of slowing down as a player.

During his time in La Liga, he has won two league titles and that isn’t counting the other trophies that he has pocketed during what is a successful stint in Spain.

New Contract Agreed To By Luka Modric

Before that, he lit the Premier League alight for Tottenham Hotspur after sealing a move to England from Dynamo Zagreb in his native country.

He’s made nearly 250 appearances in La Liga and has even claimed the Balon d’Or during his time in Spain, due largely to his success for his club and his incredible performances for his country too.

Modric continues to produce at a high level and he will seemingly continue to be doing it at Real Madrid too.
