Generous Patrick Bamford Donates to Help Remote Learning

Money Used to Fund iPads and Equipment

Bamford has donated the money, which will be used to fund 20 iPads, to Beeston Primary School, a school just a short drive from Elland Road.

In a video message addressed to the school, Bamford appealed to pupils to “keep going” because the “tough times won’t last.”

“Whether you’re home-schooling, or adapting in your new bubble, I’ve heard you’ve all been working really hard and doing really well.”

Bamford Urges School Pupils to Stay Active

Joking with students, Bamford urged them not to “overdo it” with the PlayStation and Xbox, encouraging all pupils to be more active.

“I’m sure a lot of you would rather be sat at home playing PlayStation or watching TV,” continued the striker. “But remember, sometimes it helps to go outside and do a little bit of exercise.”

School “Blown Away” With Generosity

Speaking to the BBC, the school said that they are “absolutely blown away” by the generosity shown by Bamford.

“When he learned how many children and families are struggling to access remote learning at home, he personally donated £5,000.”

It is reported that nine per cent of children in the UK do not have access to a computer or tablet suitable for doing work, highlighting the challenges schools and pupils are facing in lockdown.

Bamford Amongst Group of Premier League Helpers

Bamford is yet another high-profile Premier League football to show their kindness since the pandemic outbreak began in March.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson headed a group of 20 Premier League skippers that organised and raised funds for the NHS in April.

Elsewhere, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has received plaudits from across the nation for his work in providing children with free school meals.

This effort from Premier League footballers comes after Health Secretary Matt Hancock criticised top-earning players for not taking a pay-cut to “play their part” back in April.

Bamford Hitting Highs On and Off Pitch

Patrick Bamford has enjoyed a stellar start to life in the Premier League with Leeds, notching an impressive ten goals in 18 matches this season.

After a stuttering start to his career at Chelsea, where the Englishman was loaned out six times in five seasons, Bamford has found comfort under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds currently sit in mid-table, without any real signs of falling into a relegation battle, despite a recent dip in form.
