Nicolas Gonzalez is attracting interest from Spurs but Jose Mourinho’s side face competition from Juventus, according to Ornstein.

The 22-year-old Stuttgart winger joined the Bundesliga outfit from Argentinos Juniors in 2018. Despite being part of the Die Roten side that suffered relegation to 2. Bundesliga in the relegation playoff defeat against Union Berlin, the winger has improved since.

Following the return of football following Germany’s lockdown as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Gonzalez netted eight times from nine games as Stuttgart returned to the top flight.

Following Die Roten’s promotion, Gonzalez was handed a new deal, extending his stay at the Mercedes-Benz Arena until the summer of 2024. This season, the Argentine has added five goals from 11 appearances, including a goal and assist in the weekend win at Augsburg, and has found the net twice from two games for his national side.

Interest From Tottenham and Juventus

According to the report, Leeds United had previously been monitoring the 22-year-old, but now it’s Spurs and Juventus who are keeping tabs on the winger.

Talks are at a preliminary stage for now, but both clubs are looking to add depth at their respective squads.

According to Ornstein, Stuttgart don’t have a release clause in his current contract. However, Die Roten would be looking for a fee in the region of €30 million for the winger.

Gonzalez made the switch in 2018 for a fee of around £7.5 million, leaving the Bundesliga club with a significant profit from a potential sale.
