Andre Green Set to Make Football Return Six Months After His Release From Aston Villa

Former Aston Villa youngster Andre Green is set for a return to football, six months after being released by the Premier League side.

Several Championship teams are interested in signing the free agent. One of Villa’s academy products, he made several appearances for the club in the second tier of English football and made his debut in the Premier League at 18.

According to The Athletic’s Gregg Evans, Green will have a club by the end of the transfer window with Barnsley, Brentford, and Luton Town interested in the talented attacker.

Injuries Hampered His Time At Villa

Green has demonstrated his qualities and abilities when given the opportunity. However, injuries hampered his time at Villa and ultimately they didn’t see the best of him. Despite this, he still played his part with the Villains, helping secure promotion from the Championship in 2019.

At 22, his best years are yet to come and he will be ready to return to football. He is no stranger to the Championship having featured for Villa as well as loans at Preston North End and Charlton Athletic.

He has bags full of talent which he will admit hasn’t been showcased on a consistent basis. However, his time as free agent could soon be coming to an end. Wherever he ends up playing, he will certainly bring another dimension to the attack.

He is pacey, skillful, and loves to take players on. Green has proven he can score goals. Headers, tap-ins, and even a spectacular strike are all within his range of abilities. Green will suit an attacking side that want to score goals, and he can be the impact player who can make a difference if a team need to find a result.

Brentford Amongst The Andre Green Admirers

Green seems destined for England’s second tier of football, with several sides including Brentford interested in the player. Should the Bees pursue their interest, he would join their already highly dangerous attack.

The London side may look at him to fill an extra void after they didn’t bring in a replacement for Saïd Benrahma. However, the Bees face interest from surprise packages Barnsley who themselves have already been active this transfer window.

Luton are also believed to be interested. Nathan Jones’ side are light on goals and creativity, and Green’s arrival would certainly be a boost.

However long it takes, it appears Andre Green may finally return to football in January after six months of waiting and wondering where his career is heading.
