Marcus Forss Commits Long-Term Future to Brentford

Continued Development

The 21-year-old’s continued development has caught the eye of several high-profile clubs. According to The Athletic, Borussia Dortmund are one of several teams interested.

Forss has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough with the Bees following a loan with AFC Wimbledon last season. He scored 11 goals in 18 appearances for the League One side during the 2019/20 campaign before returning to Brentford in January.

While not a regular starter under Thomas Frank, the 21-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring seven goals. The Finnish striker has been particularly impressive from the bench – four of his seven goals have come as a substitute.

As well as impressive for Brentford, Forss has also caught the eye on the international stage. He scored on his debut for Finland, as they defeated a much-changed France side away from home.

Remaining with the Bees will be excellent for his development. The West London side has an excellent track record of developing players, and Forss could be the next player in that line.

What Was Said?

Speaking about the new contract for the Finnish international, Head Coach Frank said: “I am very pleased that we managed to sign a long-term contract with Marcus.

“He is a very talented striker who has added extra levels to his game in the last year. He can link up play, is good at arriving in the box, and has made big strides in terms of leading our press.

“He is also one of the best finishers I have seen. He has a bright future ahead of him

I must praise Neil MacFarlane and the Brentford B staff for creating another player for the First Team, one who has not only being playing regularly, but now has this long-term contract with us.”
