Dejan Kulusevski Continues to Impress for Juventus

Dejan Kulusevski

Over the weekend, Dejan Kulusevski further cemented himself as Juventus’ most promising player, scoring as a substitute to draw level with Verona. In front of a scattered collection of fans at the Juventus Stadium, the Swedish midfielder turned in from the right before weaving his way through Verona’s defence and bending the ball into the far post.

It was Federico Bernardeschi who made way for the Swede who was rested by Pirlo after making seven appearances in a row. Kulusevski made an immediate impact, providing a much-needed spark to Juventus’ midfield.

Dejan Kulusevski Continues Impressive Form for Juventus

The midfielder appears to be the perfect complement to a Juventus attack boasting a huge amount of talent. Kulusevki played on the right with Juan Cuadrado on the left. In the centre, Pirlo has started with Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot and Arthur, with Paulo Dybala partnering either Cristiano Ronaldo or Alvaro Morata ahead of them.

The midfielder was bought from Atlanta after two successful loan seasons at Parma, in which he scored ten goals in 39 games. He has made five appearances for Sweden. In 2019/20 he won the award for Serie A’s Best Young Player.

Juventus are currently fifth in the league after five games, behind AC Milan, Napoli, Sassuolo and Inter Milan. Current leaders AC Milan, who boast Kulusevki’s compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their team, still have one game in hand. However, according to bookies such as Bet365, Inter remain favourites to pick up the title this season.

Romelu Lukaku has currently scored five goals, but it’s Cristiano Ronaldo who is expected to pick up the golden boot. The Juventus and Portugal striker has scored three goals but has been in quarantine for the past two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19.
