REPORT: Gareth Bale to Complete Return to Tottenham Hotspur

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is ready to complete his return to Tottenham Hotspur, according to Fabrizio Romano. It was reported yesterday that Spurs were close to agreeing on a deal for their former player. However, the sale has now advanced to the point where he is set to undergo a medical tomorrow and complete a one-year loan back to the North London side.

How Much Will This Cost?

Due to Bale’s astronomical wages at Madrid, even a loan deal for the Welshman isn’t coming cheap. It’s thought that his weekly wage in the Spanish capital is around £600,000.

Reportedly, Madrid want Tottenham to pay the full sum of Bale’s wages, but this would completely break the wage structure at the club, hence why negotiations have continued.

Other Incomings?

It’s also being reported that Spurs have completed a deal for left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Jose Mourinho’s side have beaten his former club, Manchester United, to the capture of the Spaniard, who is also set to join from Real Madrid for around €30 million.

Reguilon had held talks with United, but they were far more sceptical about the buy-back clause Madrid wanted to put in the contract than Spurs were.

Another area Spurs are looking to bolster is up front to ease the load on Harry Kane.

Alexander Sorloth was one of those being considered, but he is set to end his loan at Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace to replace Timo Werner at RB Leipzig.

In addition, Andrea Belotti is set to remain in Italy with Torino. It was previously reported that Spurs had had a bid rejected for the 26-year-old.

It’s now thought that Tottenham are focussed on completing and announcing the deals for Reguilon and Bale, and then they will shift their focus fully onto signing a striker.
