Time With Cheltenham

Broom spent two years with the Robins after arriving from Bristol Rovers in 2018. He made 88 appearances in total, scoring 12 times, and winning one Player of the Season award.

The midfielder played a pivotal role in Cheltenham’s run to the League Two play-offs last season. However, despite his side being 2-0 up after the first leg, they were defeated 3-2 on aggregate by Northampton Town.

Broom could feature in Peterborough’s next pre-season friendly, against Colchester United, and he could also be in line to face former club Cheltenham when they meet the Posh in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the club website about the move, Broom said: “I really enjoyed my time with Cheltenham and we were really unfortunate with the way it ended last season. I had heard about the interest from Peterborough before so it is great that everything is completed now and I can’t wait to get started. I have been training with Cheltenham so I am feeling fit and raring to go.

“I spoke with the manager and he told me how he wants to play and to be honest that suits me down to the ground. There is not too much of a difference in how we played at Cheltenham last season so it is just adjusting really. It is funny how the Carabao Cup first round tie worked out but it is a tie I am looking forward to.”
