Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted that he would be willing to work with clubs over the transfer of Thiago Alcantara.

The Spaniard, who has one year left on his contract, has told the club that he wants to leave this Summer.

According to Christian Falk, Bayern want €30 million for the Spanish international.

Bayern’s Approach

Speaking to German publication Bild (via goal), Rummenigge said: “Regarding Thiago, it’s known that he told us he wanted to do something new.

“If a club approaches us that is willing to pay a fair transfer fee, we will work on it.”

Interest From Liverpool for Thiago Alcantara

Liverpool have been rumoured to be interested in the midfielder for a number of weeks, with Bild even reporting in July that personal terms had been agreed.

He would be a big signing for the Premier League champions and would certainly improve an already world-class midfield.

If an agreement with the German champions can be put into place, it would be Liverpool’s second signing of the window after bringing in Greek international left-back Kostas Tsimikas earlier this week.

Hansi Flick Fuelling Rumours About Transfer

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has spoken to the German media about these rumours over the last week.

Speaking to Sport1 (Via The Mirror) Flick said: “I can understand when a player is concerned.

“Thiago played in Spain for FC Barcelona and in the Bundesliga for FC Bayern Munich.

“If he wants to try again in the Premier League now, I totally understand. But it would be a shame because Thiago gives our game that certain something.”

He has also suggested to Bild, that the Spanish midfielder should move to the Premier League.

He said: “Now he wants the new challenge, in my opinion, it should be the Premier League.”
