Struggled Since Manchester United Breakthrough

The left-back, who first broke through under Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, has experienced a tough time of it since.

Loan spells at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United, Scunthorpe United and Tranmere Rovers haven’t worked out for him, though he’s shown enough at Boundary Park to earn a one-year contract.

He will once again link-up with fellow Manchester United academy graduate Zak Dearnley at Oldham.

Dearnley signed a contract extension in June.

Determined to Give His All

“I’m really pleased to be back at the club and can’t wait to get going again,” Borthwick-Jackson said.

“I enjoyed my loan spell last season and I’m pleased I’ve got another opportunity now to build on that and show the fans more of what I can do.

“I’ll give 100% commitment again and I’m focused on getting regular game time as part of a strong defensive unit.”

Under New Management

Things may look different for his return, with head coach Dino Maamria having been sacked.

Former Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell has been hired as his replacement.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will now face the challenge of having to prove himself to yet another manager.

He was regularly involved in his short time under Maamria, making six appearances out of a possible nine.

Though by signing him, the League Two side have put their faith in him doing so.

Talent Remains

At the age of 23, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is still young. But this is his time to kick-on and prove his talent remains.

Borthwick-Jackson was awarded the 2015/16 Denzil Haroun reserve team player of the season at Manchester  United.

A one-year contract is sure to keep him keen to earn an extension or a move elsewhere.
