Mesure’s Career

Mesure’s first steps into coaching came a Crystal Palace, where he spent ten years. There, he worked alongside current Gas manager Garner.

He rose all the way through the youth ranks at Palace, eventually coaching the U23 team and, during his time at the club, they produced players such as Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, now at Manchester United.

In addition, current Rovers striker James Daly also came through at Palace during Mesure’s stint.

Mesure made the move to Chelsea in 2018 after being head-hunted for the position. During his almost two years in South West London, he coached all age groups between the U15s and U23s.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the club website, Rovers manager Garner said of the appointment: “I’m absolutely delighted to be able to bring Jack to the club. He is someone I have known for a long time and worked very closely with previously. We share very similar beliefs and ideas about the game plus Jack also has the personal values and characteristics that will enhance the strong staff structure that we already have in place.

“Jack is an outstanding coach. He is passionate about what we are trying to build here at Rovers and his work ethic, dedication, and expertise will help us on that journey. I would like to thank Neil Bath and Chelsea Football Club for their cooperation in us being able to appoint Jack ahead of the 2020/2021 season.”
