The England international has had a successful spell in the North East and is keen to stay with Steve Bruce‘s side on a permanent basis, as reported by the Newcastle Chronicle.

Rose has made 11 appearances for Newcastle since signing in late January; despite sitting out their 3-1 loss that came at the hands of his parent club.

According to Football.London, the Leeds United Academy graduate looks set to be on the move when the transfer window opens later this month.

Yet, should Newcastle wish to keep Rose, they may face a battle for his signature with Italian side Lazio, who are also rumoured to be interested.

Mourinho Open About Rose’s Future

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho was candid when asked about Rose’s future at the club.

He responded: “No, no decision is made. To be honest, since he left, I didn’t speak with him. His feelings are important. His happiness is important. Steve Bruce and Newcastle I think they also deserve to have an important word on this situation.”

Mourinho went on to state: “My club, Mr Levy, the player is our player and he has a contract. So I think everything is open, and of course, we are on this for a couple of more weeks, three more matches, and after that, plenty of time to make decisions.”

Prior to his loan move, the 30-year-old was in and out of the Spurs line-up under the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss.

After being dropped in early November, Rose played just 100 minutes for the North London club before leaving on loan three months later. He has just one year remaining on his current contract at the club.
