Jude Bellingham Deal Nears Completion

Following months of speculation, Bellingham’s move will be finalised this week. The 17-year-old will arrive in Dortmund in the coming days. He will formally complete his transfer from Birmingham.

The talented forward should also complete his medical in Dortmund and sign his new long-term deal with the Bundesliga club. BVB will then be able to officially announce their new signing.

Dortmund Finally Get Their Man

Dortmund has been heavily linked with Bellingham since the teenager made his breakthrough at St Andrew’s this season.

BVB finally landed the talented forward, seeing off reported competition from other European big hitters such as Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea. Bellingham reportedly visited all of the clubs recently before making his decision to join Dortmund.

The allure of regular appearances and the prospect of developing into a future international player drew Bellingham towards the Bundesliga side.

He will link up with fellow English forward, Jadon Sancho. The 20-year-old made a similar move from England to Germany in 2017 from Manchester City.

Dortmund’s young squad also contains young talents like Erling Haaland and Giovanni Reyna, who continue to flourish under Lucien Favre.

Impressive Bellingham

Bellingham enjoyed an impressive breakthrough senior season at Birmingham in the Championship this season. He made 41 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, scoring four league goals.

Making his senior debut at just 16-years-old, Bellingham quickly established himself in Birmingham’s midfield. He scored two goals in his first two senior starts at the club in August and September.

Despite being a utility across Birmingham’s midfield this season, Dortmund look set to use the youngster as a central midfielder in the future.
