What Was Said?

Speaking to the club’s official Twitter account about his contract extension, Kimpembe said: “It’s my team and the club where I came through the ranks. I’ve been here for about 15 years, since I was eight-years-old.

“Signing up to the club’s project is an honour for me. We hope to win a lot of matches, a lot of trophies.

“When the coach arrived we exchanged straight away and he showed me his philosophy and his way of seeing things. He is very funny and we understand each other very well.”

Career So Far and Kimpembe’s Future

Kimpembe has been at PSG for all of his career, breaking into the first team in 2014 and making his debut in a Ligue 1 match which they won 3-1 away at Lens.

The France international has been a regular for the champions since his introduction into the first team, but it took until 2019 for his first goal to arrive when he notched in a Champions League tie against Manchester United.

Kimpembe’s first call-up to the France squad came in 2016 in place of the injured Eliaquim Mangala for the World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and the Netherlands. However, he did not make his debut until March 2018 in a friendly match against Russia.

He has since gone on to make nine appearances for France, including at the 2018 World Cup, but he was an unused substitute in the final against Croatia.
