Nathan Jones Has Galvanised Luton Since His Return

It’s been a very good restart for Luton. The Hatters have collected five points from their three games. Nathan Jones will be delighted with the application and progression his side have made since his return.

They will fancy their chances against a struggling Reading side this weekend. The Hatters have put in spirited displays against Preston North End, Leeds United and Swansea City since the restart.

They battled to an excellent point at Elland Road last time out and Nathan Jones will want more of the same. Luton head into this game just three points adrift of safety. Their performances have installed belief both in the players and fans.

Glen Rea will be assessed after pulling up in the warm-up at Elland Road. Nathan Jones will be without Brendan Galloway, Eunan O’Kane and Kazenga LuaLua.

Reading Need to Ignite Their Season

Its been a very slow, disappointing start to the restart for Reading. The Royals have collected just one point from their three games. They have lost their last two and were thumped by in form Brentford last time out.

Reading were outfought, outplayed and outclassed by Brentford. The manner of the performance will concern Mark Bowen. His side lacked ideas and simply caved in to a rampant Brentford team.

The Royals are in danger of being dragged into the relegation battle. With the sides below them finding some form, the pressure is mounting on Mark Bowen and his side to start picking up points.

Victory at Kenilworth will edge them a step closer to safety. Reading begin a crucial run of fixtures at Kenilworth Road before they face Huddersfield Town and Charlton Athletic.

Lucas Joao and Andy Yiadom are likely to miss out as they battle with injury. Bowen is likely to rotate his side after Tuesday’s horror show. Striker George Puscas could be in line for a start.

Previous Meeting

Reading thumped Luton in the reverse fixture at the Madejski Stadium. Goals from Michael Morrison, Ovie Ejaria and Garath McCleary secured an emphatic win for the Royals.

Prediction

A crucial game for both teams. Luton need the points to continue their survival charge. Reading need the win to ensure their Championship status. The Royals have lost their last two, while Luton are unbeaten in six. Their best run of the season.
