Two-Year Deal

Swindon announced via their website Lyden has agreed a new deal. The Australian midfielder has signed a new two-year deal ending in June 2022.

Lyden arrived at the County Ground last summer after his release from Aston Villa. His time in the Midlands was hampered by injuries but he did manage a few appearances for Villa. These include a handful in the Premier League.

His crowning achievement in the colours of Swindon was a dramatic winner against Northampton – Lyden’s first goal for the club. Lyden brings valuable experience to a Swindon side ready to challenge League One.

Lyden “Delighted” To Sign A New Deal

Speaking to the Swindon website about his new deal, Lyden said: “I’m absolutely delighted to sign a two-year extension.”

“This season has been great, being Champions and getting promoted to League One and that just shows the direction the club is going.”

“The Gaffer has played a huge part in me staying too. He gave me the opportunity to play a lot of games in the last year.”

“I can’t wait to get going next season. But the main thing is getting going with fans, whenever that may be, so they can see us kick on in League One, which I’m sure we will do.”
