Keshi Anderson: Blackpool Sign Forward on Free Transfer From Swindon Town

Blackpool have made their first signing of the summer by bringing in Swindon Town’s Keshi Anderson on a two-year contract. The 25-year-old was out of contract with the League Two champions and the Seasiders have moved to snap up the forward on a two-year contract, with the option of a further year.

Career So Far

Anderson’s career started in non-league with Bedfordshire side Barton Rovers before he was snapped up by the Crystal Palace academy. He did not make a senior appearance for Palace in his three years at the club, but did have loan spells in the EFL with Doncaster Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Northampton Town and Swindon.

The 2017/18 spell at Swindon prompted the Robins to take him on a permanent deal at the start of the 2018/19 campaign.

He played 43 times in that season, scoring four goals. He upped his tally to six this season, despite featuring in almost half the amount of games.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the Blackpool club website, Anderson said of the move: “The head coach was a big reason in why I moved here. I’ve spoken to a few of the lads that I’ve previously played with, such as Sullay Kaikai and Gary Madine, and they had nothing but good things to say about Neil’s approach to the game.

“This club is definitely moving in the right direction and there are some big plans for the future. I’m really excited to see where we can go, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Head coach Neil Critchley added: “I think he will be a real asset to the squad going forward. He will bring a tremendous amount of quality to the team and at 25 years of age, his best playing days are ahead of him.”
