Many fans across social media were pleased to see a Pochettino signing a new contract at the club. The player captioned his photo with “Looking forwards to the new season.”

It is uncertain as to whether the photo is a new one or not. His father is poised behind him. Both of them are wearing last season’s training kit or Spurs merchandise.

Another Talent Secured for the Future

Maurizio Pochettino was born in 2001, in Barcelona. Thus he is 19 years old, a young and hungry winger looking to develop his game in England. He arrived when his father was managing the Spurs side.

He has made eight appearances in the Premier League 2 this season, with one goal and one assist. In addition, he made five appearances in the UEFA Youth League, notching two assists.

It is positive to see the club continue to tie down its younger talents. Japhet Tanganga is the most recent academy graduate to make it into the first-team. He is currently injured but has certainly made an impression.

Pochettino may well be another player that knocks on the door of the first team in the coming seasons. He obviously has a lot of competition. Even the more established young attacking midfielders in Ryan Sessegnon are struggling to get game time. Nevertheless, Pochettino will remain at the club for the near future. Perhaps, one day, his father may return to put his own son into the first team.
