Manchester City Looking to Continue Good Start Against Burnley

Manchester City

Manchester City will be looking to continue their winning restart off the back of the 3-0 victory against Arsenal. The Citizens will be taking on a Burnley team who themselves will be looking to secure a top-half finish and ensure of a strong end to the season.

The major headline regarding City in recent days will be the news of Germany international Leroy Sane, who will be looking to secure a likely move away from the Etihad with Bayern Munich looking like a probable destination.

Manchester City Ready to Put Leroy Sane Differences Behind Them Ahead of Burnley Match

Latest From Both Camps

City will be wanting to play Champions League football next season but that will be down to the appeal against UEFA’s imposed ban, which may see them reached a compromised resolution in order to reduce the already set two-season ban.

Burnley have several players who are due to be out of contract with Aaron Lennon and Joe Hart set to leave, while Jeff Hendrick and Phil Bardsley are the other experienced campaigners who may leave before the season is out should they not agree on a new deal before the 23rd June cut-off point.

Team News

Eric Garcia will only be out of action for ten days following a nasty injury in the win over Arsenal. Garcia spent Wednesday night being assessed in hospital and was discharged on Thursday.

For Burnley, it was a frustrating week of not knowing whether their squad capacity will be affected by the players who look set to leave amid uncertainty from contract deals. For now, though, it’s only Lennon and Hart who are set to leave.

Prediction

It’s hard to look past City here given their superiority throughout their multi-millions of talent. Another home fixture will likely see them grab three points, which will move them that much closer to clinching second place this term.

Burnley, should they shut up shop as excepted, will do exceptionally well to hold off one of the most productive and potent outfits that there are.

Kevin De Bruyne was once again in inspired form in his first game back from the enforced break. With a goal and once again running the show, his creative vision applied a touch of class in every regard when on the ball.

Burnley have found themselves on a resurgent run since the new year and will hope to be at the centre of what would be a huge upset. Dwight McNeil will be one to watch with the winger being one of Burnley’s standout performers this campaign.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Burnley
