Aston Villa Captain Jack Grealish Charged With Driving Offences

Aston Villa Captain Jack Grealish has been charged by the West Midlands Police with driving without due care and attention and failing to stop at a collision.

“Jack Grealish is accused of the offences in Waterside, Dickens Heath, Solihull, on Sunday, March 29,” said a statement from West Midlands Police. “An investigation was launched after we responded to reports of a car hitting parked vehicles and the driver fleeing on foot. The 24-year-old from Barnt Green, Worcestershire, has been postal charged to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on 25 August.”

Jack Grealish Apology

Since the incident occurred, Grealish has apologised for breaking lockdown. The midfielder did admit that he had agreed to visit a friend’s house.

“I just want to do a quick video message just to say how deeply embarrassed I am by about what has happened this weekend,” said Grealish in a Twitter video apology.

“I obviously just got a call off a friend asking to go round to his, and I stupidly agreed to do so,” he said.
This incident occurred only one day after Grealish urged his followers to stay home on social media.
However, after the incident, the midfielder had donated money to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and raised funds for the NHS by raffling one of his shirts.
Aston Villa have fined Grealish, with all the money going to a local charity. However, this fine has only reflected his breaking of the lockdown rules. The club has yet to respond to this latest news.

A Key Player for Villa

Grealish isn’t only Aston Villa’s captain, he’s their most valuable player. The midfielder has played a vital role in the club’s season. So far, he has scored eight goals and had seven assists in the Premier League.

And several of his goals have been world-class. An example is his strike against Manchester United in the Premier League. During that game, Grealish received the ball, evaded a defender’s challenge and beautifully curled a strike into the top corner.

He is a crucial reason why Villa still have a chance of staying in the Premier League. But, the club will have to sell him if they go down. Quite simply, the transfer offers would be too high from other teams.

In the past, Tottenham Hotspur has expressed interest in the midfielder.

Not Grealish’s First Time in Trouble

This incident is not the first time that Jack Grealish has been in trouble. In 2015, the midfielder went on a trip to Marbella. There he was photographed drinking heavily in the middle of the day.

A picture eventually came out, which showed him passed out on the floor.

While the midfielder does have considerable talent, he cannot allow his potential to be wasted by stupid actions. However, he is only 24-years-old, and he still has time to straighten himself out.
