Lots of Promising Youth

Manchester United’s youth system has been nothing short of world-class over the previous few decades,. They have turned out incredible talents like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

Recently, they have had much success as well, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba quality players to have emerged from their ranks.

Currently, the Red Devils have much promise lined up for the future; players like Teden Mengi and Anthony Elanga are looking to become first-team regulars at the Theatre of Dreams. In addition, Hannibal Mejbri, who has been tipped as the next Kylian Mbappé, joined last summer for a fee that could rise to £9 million.

Despite this success and a bright future, Sotona is considering a departure from Old Trafford. The report also suggests that there are European giants interested in his signature.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Giving Youth a Chance But Not Enough For Sotona

Whitwell’s report claims that Sotona’s reasons for thinking of an Old Trafford exit are multiple.

First of all, the youngster has not yet signed a professional contract. With promising players in the first team, namely Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes, having made renewing their contracts a challenge, the issue of those with younger names has not been as heavily covered. However, now it is becoming far more important, with a wonderkid considering departure due, in part, to a lack of a professional contract.

The report also gave Sotona’s lack of opportunity as a factor in his potential decision to leave. He has played just 60 seconds of football for United’s U23s in his time at the club;  he came on as a  last-minute substitute before prematurely returning to the bench having been shown a red card. And Despite getting lots of game time in the U18s, the 17-year-old is considering a move away, wanting more opportunity and a professional contract.
