The Signing

Having recently seen high profile transfers like £80 million for Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes for an initial £47 million, which could rise as high as £65 million, £200,000 for a player may seem very underwhelming, especially with £9 million spent last summer on Hannibal Mejbri, bringing the then 19-year-old from Monaco to the Theatre of Dreams. But, that is not to say that he is not a quality player.

Hugill has been impressive for Sunderland’s youth teams this season, breaking into the U18s and even the U23s. He scored once in three starts for the former and bagged two goals in three games for the latter. The English forward looks as if he possesses much talent and potential, and the Red Devils will hope to nurture that should they complete their £200,000 move when the lockdown ends.

Manchester United Signing and Growing Youngsters

Since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United manager, the club’s focus has largely been on youth. Trying to rebuild the squad, it is vital that there is a great crop of youngsters coming through the ranks, and so far their efforts have been successful.

As previously mentioned, Hannibal Mejbri joined last summer for an incredible fee for someone so young. The Manchester side also have many players who have come through the academy to the U18s and U23s, including pacey winger Ayodeji Sotona and Michael CarrickEsque James Garner. Overall, with a seemingly fantastic youth setup generating many great players, the Red Devils are hoping to get another deal across the line to add to their ranks of talent.
