Paris Saint-Germain Submit Offer for Paul Pogba

Not Living Up to High Expectations at Manchester United

Paul Pogba has not lived up to the high expectations earned by his then-world record transfer fee when re-joining United.

Upon the expiration of his contract in 2012, Pogba left Manchester in favour of Juventus. While in Turin, he transformed into one of the best midfielders in the world, attracting interest from many of Europe’s elite clubs. While they had to compete with giants like Real Madrid, the Red Devils managed to land their former player, signing him for £89 million in 2016.

Many fans expected him to have an enormous, positive impact on the team, but this was not the case. The Frenchman’s attitude in Manchester has been questionable, and injury has hindered any progress he has made.

A trying relationship with former boss Jose Mourinho was a challenge to which neither party reacted well, but when the United hierarchy opted to sack the Portuguese manager in December of 2018, Pogba’s form spiked.

Seemingly getting along much better with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Frenchman had his best season in 2018/29, scoring 13 goals and assisting nine in the Premier League, with 16 and 11 from all competitions.

Despite this, Pogba has spent the majority of this season on the sidelines through an ankle injury and could depart from the north of England with many sides interested in his signature.

Paris Saint-Germain Making Big-Money Moves

PSG are seemingly one of the richest clubs in the world based on their transfer expenditure. In 2017 they smashed the world record to sign Neymar for roughly £200 million, and other big-money signings include Kylian Mbappé from Monaco, who has blossomed into a star in the French capital.

While the French outfit are experiencing financial difficulties due to the coronavirus, Barcelona are looking to make a move for their former Brazilian winger, Neymar, and PSG could use this money to fund a move for the wantaway United midfielder.

The Reported Deal for Paris Saint-Germain to Buy Paul Pogba

PSG are offering a player-plus-cash deal for Pogba, according to the reports.

The two footballers included sweetening the deal are Julien Draxler and Angel Di Maria. While the former would not be the worst addition in the world, the latter may.

A current teammate of Di Maria’s recently revealed that he hates the Red Devils so much that he cannot even stand to watch them on television. Furthermore, the Argentine winger does not fit with United’s young-first transfer belief, and this offer would likely need a vast improvement for United to even consider it.
