European powerhouse Juventus are set to make a bid for Manchester United star Paul Pogba, according to Italian journal Calciomercato.

Juventus Set to Bid for Manchester United Star Paul Pogba

His Career so Far

Having come through the ranks at Manchester United, Pogba moved to Juventus in 2012. The Frenchman went on to become one of the best midfielders in the world during his time in Turin, consistently getting direct goal involvements. He was involved in 18 during his last season for the Serie A giants. He then moved to United for a club record fee of £89 million in 2016.

Despite the great excitement which surrounded his return to Manchester, the 27-year-old has failed to have the impact everyone thought he could. He has certainly shown his quality for the Red Devils, but consistency has been the missing ingredient for Pogba’s success at Manchester United.

This season, although it seemed that he could finally have found the form he needed, having had great success last time out, but the Frenchman has played just eight times. He has struggled with a recurring ankle injury, prohibiting him from playing for the majority of the season, but Pogba will have returned from his injury by the time football resumes and should then be able to show his class in a Manchester United shirt once again.

Ongoing Interest in the Frenchman

There has been a lot of interest in Pogba almost since he signed for United. Real Madrid have been very keen on seeing the former Juventus star move to the Bernabéu. This has not happened however, due, in part, to the very high £150 million price tag which United have placed on Pogba’s head.

The new report, however, claims that Juventus could sign him for just over £90 million. Juventus seem to have overtaken Real Madrid in the race for Pogba’s signature, and they are now waiting for a green light to launch a bid for the 27-year-old.
