REPORT: Former Aston Villa Striker Darius Vassell Says Jack Grealish ‘Has Got to Leave’

Aston Villa Jack Grealish

Not a day goes by without Jack Grealish being mentioned on the transfer scene. Aston Villa’s star player is constantly linked with a move away from Villa Park, and although it could have happened in January, nothing materialised. Surely this summer, Grealish should leave? Former Villains favourite Darius Vassell said to the Daily Mail it is “a matter of time” before the English playmaker moves on, and that Jack Grealish should depart this summer.

Why Jack Grealish Has to Depart Aston Villa This Summer

Great Performances From Jack Grealish For Aston Villa This Season

Grealish has been brilliant in Villa’s return to the Premier League. He is the club’s top scorer this season with nine goals in all competitions. According to whoscored, he has been one of the best midfielders in the league this season.

The 24-year-old has provided them with excellent quality going forwards, scoring beautiful goals against the likes of Manchester United, who are one of the many clubs linked with his signature, and could prove a great move for the Englishman.

Villa’s Poor Season

Villa have been poor so far this campaign. Despite being one of the biggest clubs in English football, they have failed to impress on their top-flight return. They are currently 19th, above only Norwich City, and could go straight back down to the Championship.

According to a recent BBC article based on the Euro Club Index, Dean Smith’s side has over a 60% chance of relegation this season. With that said, they could have a speedy return to the competition in which they have spent the last three seasons.

This would be even more reason for Jack Grealish to leave Aston Villa in the summer, and he could find himself fighting for places in one of the best clubs in the world.

Manchester United’s Extensive Interest in Grealish

Manchester United have shown extensive interest in Villa’s playmaker. Although their need for him is less since Bruno Fernandes’ arrival, which has had a huge impact on most of United’s players, they would still like him at Old Trafford. Grealish is versatile across the attack, and, although it is unlikely, may be able to fix United’s right-wing issues. The Red Devils may seek to sign Grealish this summer, and it would be a very wise move for the Englishman to take this offer.
