Third Signing of the Window

The 19-year-old is the third signing of the window for the Potters, following the arrivals of Jordan Thompson and James Chester.

Oakley-Boothe is the youngest of the three and has made just one senior appearance for Tottenham.

Much of his time in North London was spent playing for Spurs’ U23’s; he made 13 appearances for their academy side during the first half of this season.

Meanwhile, Thompson arrives on a permanent deal from League One side Blackpool. The Northern Irishman is also a central midfielder and has signed a two-and-half-year deal with the Potters.

Central defender James Chester has joined on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season.

Stoke boss Michael O’Neill will be hoping that his new additions can help steer the club away from the relegation zone. The Potters are currently 20th in the Championship, having taken 31 points from 30 games.

Stoke face a pivotal fixture against Charlton Athletic in their next game, as the Addicks sit just one place below them in the table.

What Was Said

Speaking about his new arrival to the Stoke City website, manager Michael O’Neill said: “Tashan is a highly promising youngster – exactly the kind of player we want to try and move the Club forward and at the same time help him realise his potential.”

Meanwhile, Tony Scholes, Chief Executive at the Bet365 Stadium, said: “Tashan is a player with a great deal of promise who I know Tottenham hold in really high regard and were reluctant to let him leave.

“We are delighted to have secured his services and he’s joining a first-team squad with a strong group of young players in Tyrese Campbell, Nathan Collins, Tom Edwards, Thibaud Verlinden and Julien Ngoy.
