The Deal

Millwall announced via their website they had signed the striker. Bennett arrives on loan for the remainder of the season determined to make a good impression at the Den.

The striker arrives seeking first-team football after making just nine appearances for Derby. He made his Derby breakthrough at the age of 15, scoring his first professional goal against Millwall.

The striker has since spent time on loan at Bradford City and Notts County. Bennett reunites Millwall manager with Gary Rowett after the two worked together at Derby

Bennett is eligible to make his debut this weekend in Millwall’s clash with promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

What Was Said

Speaking to the Millwall website about his move, Bennett said: “I first had a chat with the gaffer around November time, so I’ve known about it for a while.

“I had an unfortunate injury at Derby just before Christmas, but he has been keen to get me in and I’ve been working hard ever since to get as fit as I can.

“I can bring different attributes to what the lads have now. I know they’re flying. I can give a different option to the team going forward with pace and power, and I want to get back playing and enjoying football – this is a great club to come to do that.

“I don’t know much about the playing squad, apart from Alex Pearce, but I’ve been watching from afar this season and it seems like a tight-knit group who want to work for each other, which is the perfect environment for me to come into.”
