Bruno Fernandes is Needed at Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United have had a below-average season, picking up just 34 points in the Premier League so far. There are a couple of factors to blame for this failure, most notably a weak midfield. United have been battered with injuries all season, the midfield being the area of the pitch suffering the most. Maestros Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay are both out, forcing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to field players such as Andreas Pereira. This has left the midfield with a lack of creativity and physical presence. United are historically known for strong and creative midfielders. In the past Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Paul Scholes have all graced the pitch wearing red. This is a part of United that needs to be revived; and it can be, through Bruno Fernandes.

Supply the Forwards

United’s attack features many youngsters who will also continue to grow and develop. These players include Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Anthony Martial. These players would be even more deadly with a creative midfielder to support and supply them with assists. Right now, they are carrying too high a workload and are not able to reach their full potential.

Bruno Fernandes is exactly what United need. He will be able to provide desperately-needed creativity in a vital area of the pitch, and he will bolster an already deadly attack. Fernandes is known for his key passing, which is exactly the area that United lack in. They have the attacking power, but no one to provide for the forwards. By getting Fernandes’ signature, that would change.

United Are Closing in on the Signature

Manchester United have been linked to many deals, but they have failed to actually make any signings. A new face is badly needed in Manchester and those in charge know Fernandes would be the right signature. They have been chasing after him all winter, struggling to agree on a price with Sporting, but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have now sent their official offer to the Portuguese club. United were highly criticized for their overpriced signing of Harry Maguire, but they are in such a bad position that it seems that they have finally agreed to Sporting’s terms.
