The Deal

Ronan arrives as Blackpool’s second attacking signing in the last two days after Gary Madine re-joined the club on Thursday. Simon Grayson has set his sights on attacking reinforcements in a bid to get Blackpool into the Championship.

Ronan is used to pressures of League One having made a combined 32 appearances for Portsmouth and Walsall at this level. The Republic of Ireland U21international has made just 13 appearances for parent club Wolves.

Ronan brings pace, creativity and an eye for goal. Simon Grayson is targeting more creativity in his side for the likes of Gary Madine, Joe Nuttall and Armand Gnanduillet.

The Tangerines dipped in the promotion race in weeks and Grayson is hoping Ronan can make the necessary impact to get Blackpool closer to the top six.

Ronan’s most recent loan spell was with Slovakian side DAC Dunjska Streda.

Blackpool’s game against Lincoln may come too soon for the Wolves loanee. He is likely to make his debut against either Tranmere Rovers or Wycombe Wanderers.

What Was Said

Speaking to the Blackpool website about his move, Connor Ronan said: “I like to get on the ball and try and make things happen. I’ll take risks in the opposite half, try and get a few assists and chip in with a few goals. All in all, I just want to help the team wherever I can and try and help the team get back to where it belongs.”

Manager Simon Grayson added: “Connor’s an exciting player and the type of player that we’ve been missing this season. A lot of people speak highly about him and he’s had some good experience out in Slovakia, as well as internationally for Ireland at under-21 level. We’re looking for him to get on the ball, pick a pass and add something different to the squad.”
