Thomas Frank Signs New Deal at Brentford

Brentford confirmed via their website head coach Thomas Frank had signed a new deal with the Bees. Frank has been in charge since October 2018 replacing Dean Smith who left for Aston Villa.

Frank has guided Brentford to third in the Championship table just six points off the automatic promotion places.

Frank’s new deal runs until the summer of 2023.

What Was Said

After Brentford confirmed the news, Head Coach Thomas Frank said: “I am very pleased that the Club offered me a new contract and I was delighted to sign it.”

“I love coming to work every single day and love working with the players and the staff here. It is also brilliant to work with Phil, Rasmus and [Brentford FC Owner] Matthew Benham, we all know that this Club is special.”

“There is a unique togetherness at Brentford and a unique focus on wanting to get better every day. We have a clear plan; a clear strategy and good people and we are going in the right direction.”

“We are in a really good place and not just because of our current form on the pitch and our position in the league but because of how we are run on and off the pitch. Everybody can see the players are getting better every day and we are going into a new stadium, which is a massive boost.”

“I have a great relationship with Phil, Rasmus and Matthew. There is a clear vision and a clear strategy. We are on the same wavelength and have an understanding about the way we want to work.”

“We push each other but in the right way and I think there is a really good chance that we will achieve success together.”

Brentford Heading in the Right Direction

Its been a wonderful season for Brentford. The Bees are very much in the promotion race and arguably playing the best football in the Championship.

Frank has unlocked the potential in that Brentford side. Ollie Watkins is having his best scoring season, Said Benrahma is full of confidence. While summer signings David Raya, Pontus Jansson, Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo have slotted into the Brentford system perfectly.

The Bees are heading in the right direction with the ambition to bring Premier League football to their brand-new stadium in August 2020.

Thomas Frank deserves plenty of praise with Brentford brilliant going forward but also very difficult to break down. A fully deserved new deal for the Head Coach as Brentford battle for promotion.
