First Loan Away From West Ham

The move to Oxford United will be Nathan Holland’s first loan away from West Ham.

The winger has made just three appearances for the Hammers first-team. He made his debut earlier this season against Oxford, playing 57 minutes in a 4-0 defeat for West Ham at the Kassam Stadium.

Holland has also made his Premier League debut earlier this season, playing 19 minutes as a substitute against Wolves.

However, he has been restricted to Under-23 football for the majority of this season. He has made 13 appearances for West Ham’s academy side this season, registering an impressive 12 goals.

What Was Said

Speaking about the arrival of the youngster to the Oxford United website, manager Karl Robinson said: “He is an exciting talent, no doubt about it.

“He has pace and stretches the game and it’s exciting to have him here. Fans love to see a player taking defenders on and I am sure they are going to enjoy watching Nathan play.”

Meanwhile, Holland also spoke on his arrival, saying: “We played Oxford earlier in the season and I saw for myself what a good team they are. I’m joining a team in really good form who play attacking football, so I am determined to come here and help them push on over the second half of the season.”

Oxford will be hoping that the 21-year-old can deliver, and help push them further up the table. They currently lie fourth in League One, just two points behind the automatic promotion spots.

Holland will be hoping that he can make his debut in Oxford’s next game at home to Rotherham United.
