Swansea City have confirmed that they have signed Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on-loan until the end of the season.

Inexperienced

Despite being highly regarded by Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, Rhian Brewster is an inexperienced centre-forward.

He has made just three appearances so far in his career at Anfield, all of which have come in cup competitions.

Brewster made his debut for Liverpool earlier this season, a 2-0 victory over MK Dons in the EFL Cup. His second appearance came in the same competition, as Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Arsenal on penalties in the fourth round.

The 19-year-old is yet to make his Premier League or European debut for Liverpool, despite being named on the bench six times.

Aiding Promotion Push

The Liverpool youngster is joining at an important time for Swansea.

Steve Cooper’s side currently occupies the last play-off place in the Championship; however, they are just one point ahead of Millwall in seventh.

After an impressive start to the season, the Swans fell from the top of the table. They went six games unbeaten in the league, a feat that nobody expected under a rookie manager in Steve Cooper.

However, they then won just three of their next 15 games, meaning a slide down the table.

Despite that slide, Swansea City still remain playoff contenders, and the addition of Rhian Brewster will be welcomed at the Liberty Stadium.

Andre Ayew is currently the top scorer this season for Swansea with 11 goals. The second highest is Borja Baston, with just six all season. As a result, Steve Cooper will be hoping that Brewster can hit the ground running for the Swans.

Brewster joins with three pivotal games in the pipeline for Swansea. He will be available for the south Wales derby against Cardiff City, before they face relegation-threatened Wigan Athletic and Stoke City.
