Linking Up With a Familiar Face

Herbie Kane is linking up with a familiar face at Hull City, having played for manager Grant McCann at Doncaster Rovers last season.

Kane impressed during his first spell away from Liverpool. He made 45 appearances for Rovers in League One, helping them to reach the play-off semi-finals.

The 21-year-old registered seven goals and five assists during his time at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Not in Jurgen Klopp’s Current Plans

The Liverpool youngster is evidently not in Jurgen Klopp’s current plans. However, he may be viewed as one for the future at Anfield.

He has made just two first-team appearances for Liverpool this season, both of which came in the EFL Cup.

Instead, he has been restricted to U23 action for the Reds. He has made eight appearances for Liverpool’s academy side so far this season.

As a result, he has been sent on loan to continue his development.

Hull City Add Herbie Kane to Help Promotion Push

Kane has been added to the Hull City squad at a pivotal time, as the Tigers are vying for promotion from the Championship.

Grant McCann’s side currently lie in eighth in the Championship, just two points off of Swansea City, who occupy the last play-off place.

The Tigers have collected three wins in their last four games, the latest of which was a 1-0 win away to fellow play-off hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday.

However, a lot of Hull’s success so far this season has come through Jarrod Bowen. The 23-year-old registered 17 goals for the Tigers in the first half of the campaign.

As a result, Bowen has been attracting interest from a number of other sides, meaning Grant McCann has been keen to add to his sides attacking threat.
