Fending Off Interest From Arsenal

Rodgers has recently been linked with the Arsenal job since they sacked Unai Emery, but this contract comes as Leicester attempt to keep hold of the man who has transformed them over the last year.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new manager following the sacking of Emery. The Spaniard was sacked after a series of poor performances. As a result, the Gunners are looking for their second manager since the departure of Arsene Wenger.

One possible candidate was Rodgers. Despite only moving to the King Power Stadium earlier this year, he has transformed the Foxes into one of the most feared sides in the Premier League. They look set to break the top six mould, as they currently lie second in the Premier League.

Will Brendan Rodgers Leave Leicester City?

It always seemed unlikely that Brendan Rodgers would leave Leicester, particularly given the respective league positions between themselves and Arsenal at the moment. It would also have felt like Rodgers was leaving just as his project was beginning to really take shape.

The Northern Irishman is building an impressive, young side at the King Power. Centred around midfield duo James Maddison and Youri Tielemans, they are one of the best attacking sides in the English top-flight.

However, it is not just in attacking where the Foxes are shining. They have conceded just nine goals in 15 Premier League games, which is the best defensive record in the league. Rodgers has introduced Caglar Soyuncu to the starting line-up, who has excelled in replacing Harry Maguire.

As a result, it always appeared unlikely that Brendan Rodgers would leave anytime soon. He is building an impressive side at the King Power Stadium, while the same cannot be said for the current Arsenal team. This new deal should bring success to Leicester for years to come.
