Manchester United Should Consider Re-Signing Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha

Manchester United have been under fine form under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, even after a slight stutter in recent weeks. With the Norwegian securing a permanent job at Old Trafford last week, he should now be looking in the transfer market to improve his squad. The 45-year-old must add some quality players to his team to take the Red Devils to the next level and make them title challengers again.

One of Solskjaer’s major transfer activities in the coming window has to be in the attacking areas. Manchester United have lacked serious firepower in an attacking aspect. One of their major flops has been Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean has struggled to find his old form at Old Trafford after joining the club from Arsenal last January. Earning approximately £300,000 per week plus bonuses, he is the Premier League’s highest paid player. This wage is a burden for Manchester United, so Solskjaer must sell and replace him by signing another quality attacker.

Should Manchester United Consider Re-Signing Wilfried Zaha?

Wilfried Zaha is the Perfect Alexis Sanchez Replacement

Manchester United must consider re-signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old attacker has been Palace’s stand-out performer over the past couple of seasons. He has scored eight and assisted three goals this season. The attacking midfielder is one of Europe’s best in his position, currently. He is a constant threat from the right side of the pitch. The Ivorian is full of pace and is a huge threat to opposing defences with his unpredictable nature. The forward has caused nightmares to the defences he has played against.

He is technically a natural winger but due to Palace’s striker problems, Roy Hodgson has played him up top for large parts of the season. He is raw and hungry for scoring goals. The former Manchester United player is quite similar to Liverpool’s Sadio Mane. He might not be the best at crossing the ball from the wide areas but his blistering pace and willingness to score make him one of the best attackers in the world. The Palace forward is a very hard working player. He is quite skilful and is good at drawing fouls from the opposition defenders. Having proved his worth by leaving Manchester United, its time for him to follow Paul Pogba’s footsteps and return to the club.

Making The Attack More Unpredictable

The Crystal Palace attacker is arguably the best player in the Premier League outside the top six. At Manchester United, Zaha can be the X-factor that Solksjaer needs. Having the experience to perform in the Premier League, the Ivorian has the ability to be an instant hit at Old Trafford. He can combine well with the likes of Paul PogbaMarcus Rashford and a rejuvenated Romelu Lukaku. While the team always lacked a quality right-sided attacker, Zaha can solve this problem for the Red Devils. He has the potential in him which could take the team to the next level and make them real title contenders.

A move back to Old Trafford will be perfect for Zaha. Playing alongside so many quality players at Manchester United will help him in expressing the best of his game. A move to his former home will help him prove his worth at the top level. Nevertheless, the presence of Wilfried Zaha in the Manchester United team can provide good competition for attackers Jesse Lingard, Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Lukaku as well as helping Solskjaer to turn Old Trafford into a fortress once again.
