His Career

The Dutch international is best known for his time at Anfield, where he spent three-and-a-half years. He made 146 appearances in his time at Liverpool, scoring 12 goals.

The Dutchman then went onto join Hoffenheim but left after only two seasons. Babel then returned to his boyhood club Ajax, where he started his career. However, he only remained in Amsterdam for a season.

Since then, the winger has spent the majority of his career in Turkey. He played for Kasimpasa before joining Besiktas in the 2016/17 season, helping them win the title in the same season. His best season arguably came last season at Besiktas, as he scored 15 goals in all competitions.

Babel also brings a wealth of international experience to Craven Cottage. He has 54 caps for Holland and has scored eight goals for the national side. The winger was apart of the Dutch side that narrowly lost Spain in the 2010 World Cup final.

Comments

Babel, talking to fulhamfctv, said: “My first impressions are good and I’m very excited.

“I definitely have faith that Fulham can stay up. That’s one of the reasons I’m here, to try and help that to happen.

“I’m ready to go, I’m excited and I can’t wait.”

Joining at a Vital Time

He joins Fulham at a vital time of the season. They currently lie in 19th place, five points off of safety. They have winnable games coming up too, facing both Brighton and Crystal Palace in two of their next three games.

Fulham will also be hoping Babel can score plenty of goals too. He has never lost a Premier League game in which he has scored.
