Aaron Ramsey

Welcome back to Football Transfer News, brought to you by Last Word On Football. This edition looks at players from Arsenal, Chelsea and Burnley, as well a brief dip into the Championship, with players spiking interest from many areas.

Latest on Aaron Ramsey, Ozil, Abraham and Heaton

Mesut Özil Intent on Staying With The Gunners

The German midfielder has rejected a loan move away from Arsenal in this window. Injury woes had led to speculation that the midfielder would find himself loaned out, but Ozil is intent on keeping his place in the first team.

The 30-year-old is determined to prove his worth to Unai Emery and ruling out a loan move proves that the German has intent to be in the first team at least for the rest of the season.

Aaron Ramsey On the Move to Italy?

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been offered a four-year contract by Juventus. The 28-year-old Welshman is set to leave the Gunners either in the summer or in this window. The Serie A champions are the front runners and have already offered the deal.

According to reports in Tuttesports (via The Sun), the contract will be worth more the more games Ramsey plays. The best case scenario is playing 70% of the matches would increase the salary to around £7 million per year.

Chelsea to Recall Abraham?

Tammy Abraham’s loan spell at Aston Villa could well be coming to an end. Four Premier League clubs are hoping to sign the striker at least on loan for the rest of the season. Huddersfield Town, Wolves, Burnley and Crystal Palace are all interested in getting hold of 21-year-old Englishman.

Premier League experience for the striker would enhance his experience and first team starts would be more available to the clubs chasing than at his parent club, Chelsea. The striker has scored 14 goals in all competitions whilst playing for Villa, so whoever lands the signature will hope for more of the same.

Tom Heaton Staying With The Clarets

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has put thoughts of leaving the Lancashire side on the back burner. The 32-year-old had struggled to earn his place in the starting line-up. Heaton had not made the first team since September 2017 and was looking to move away to get more game time.

Having kept a clean sheet against West Ham United, the Heaton admitted he is happy with the Clarets. Burnley won the match to boost their hopes of staving off relegation.  According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Heaton stated: “I never wanted to leave the football club, it’s just the fact that I wasn’t playing that I would have had to. But after being back playing today it’s the last thing on my mind to be honest.”
