Latest on Higuain, Kylian Mbappe, Dembele and Shaqiri

Higuain to Chelsea?

The arrival of international superstar Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus has forced Gonzalo Higuain to consider his future with the Italian giants. The Argentine forward could be set for a transfer to London, where he may be reunited with former manager, Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea if the Italian manager’s move goes through. Higuain had a great season with Juventus last season and with Chelsea struggling up front, he could definitely bolster the current Chelsea squad and help them get back into the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe the Heir to the Madrid Throne

The news that Ronaldo has left Real Madrid took the footballing world by storm. Reports suggest that French superstar Kylian Mbappe is high up on Madrid’s watch list. The 19-year-old had a phenomenal season with PSG and has carried that momentum forward into this summer’s World Cup. Mbappe is currently the second most expensive player in the world, however a move to Madrid could see him steal Neymar’s title of most expensive player. At just 19 years of age, Mbappe has caught the eye of all major teams and his consistency and ability to perform on the big stage will surely increase his price tag.

Dembele’s Barca Stint Cut Short

Ousmane Dembele’s first season at Barcelona has been extremely underwhelming as the Frenchmen struggled to find form, partly due to an injury that ruled him out for a large portion of the season. Barcelona spent big on the youngster hoping for him to replace Lionel Messi in the coming years. However, his time may be cut short as he has caught the attention of English clubs Manchester United and Arsenal. With fellow French winger Anthony Martial set to leave Manchester this summer, Dembele could well be his replacement. Unai Emery has already made four signings this summer and may add Dembele to reunite with former Dortmund teammate, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Shaqiri to Stay in the Premier League

Xherdan Shaqiri has been Stoke City’s star player for the past few seasons, and despite being linked with a move away nearly every transfer window, his departure from Stoke this season is inevitable. Stoke City were relegated from the Premier League last season, and the Swiss star has made it clear that he wants to play in England’s top flight. Liverpool have shown an interest in the winger and are looking to bring him to Anfield for next season. Due to the fact that Stoke will be playing Championship football next season, Shaqiri’s price tag will have fallen significantly.
