Douglas Costa Signs For Juventus

The 26-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance in his time at the Bavarian club, but failed to nail down a regular starting spot. Bayern are a club with huge depth in attacking and wide positions. With the likes of the more experienced Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben returning from injury, along with the rise of young stars such as Kingsley Coman, Costa has not been able to become a full regular in the starting lineup. Despite this, he still made 34 appearances in all competitions in the 2016/17 season. In that time, the Brazilian has also netted seven goals and additionally clocked up nine assists in yet another title winning season for the Bundesliga giants.

As for his transfer to Juventus, manager Massimiliano Allegri is looked to bolster the array of attacking talent at his disposal. The Champions League Finalists should benefit greatly from the addition of a top quality wide man in Costa. The Bayern Munich man is predominantly as left winger, but has also proven to be a versatile forward player as both a right winger and an attacking midfielder for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Blessed with blistering pace and trickery, the Brazilian has proven to be a top talent in European football, consistently contributing in key situations. So, whilst also being linked to the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan, it seems that Juventus have won the race to sign the 26-year-old wide man.
