In this week’s episode, the guys start off by wrapping up the NBA season by talking about the new NBA Champions – the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in six games, winning all three games at Oracle Arena. How did Toronto get it done? What are the celebrations like in Canada? Is this the end of the Warriors dynasty? What do injuries to Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant mean going forward?
This leads to a debate of what wins championships, star players or great depth. The Raptors addition of Kawhi Leonard took them from a team that could not seem to get over the hump into the 2019 Champs. However, other factors played a role as well. The additions of Danny Green and Marc Gasol were also big for the Raptors. Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell were huge off the bench in the Playoffs. Perhaps biggest of all, Pascal Siakam emerged as a force as a big man this year.
Following that, the guys talk about the trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers and the implications of it on both teams.
To end the episode, the guys each create their own starting five using players 25 years old or younger.
