“Undying Belief”: Paige Bueckers’ Reaction on Dallas Wings’ Future

Paige Bueckers has reacted to the Dallas Wings’ difficult season by borrowing a line from Stephen Curry’s early career, urging the team’s fans to have “undying belief.” The rookie guard reminded everyone of a tweet Curry sent before the Golden State Warriors became champions. Bueckers told reporters that this was the same message she wanted to send to Wings fans and teammates.

“Undying Belief”: Paige Bueckers’ Reaction on Dallas Wings’ Future

Bueckers Insists Wings Don’t Need Exterior Believe

The Wings are in a rebuilding phase and have struggled to find rhythm after battling injuries throughout the season. They had just eight players available for last night’s game after signing Christyn Williams and Amy Okonkwo on hardship contracts. Bueckers herself was only cleared close to tipoff after being listed as questionable all day.

“I mean, just to stick with it, like, whoever we have in that locker room, whoever puts on a Wings jersey that night, that’s who we’re going to war with,” Bueckers said. “And that’s what we believe in… We don’t need exterior belief, like, in that locker room we feel like we have enough, and we’re always gonna fight and show up that way. And I remember Steph Curry, before the Warriors became the Warriors, like, he tweeted out, like, ‘Just stick with us… We’re gonna figure it out.”

“The people we have here and the belief we have in the things we are building…I just have this undying belief. I know that if we continue doing things the right way…and we believe in each other…the results will come,” she added.

Golden State did not record a winning season until Curry’s fourth year in the league. Two years later, they won the NBA title as the core of Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green went on to build a powerhouse, lifting four NBA trophies together between 2015 and 2022. The Warriors have climbed to third all-time in both championships (seven) and Finals appearances (12), sitting behind only the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers in league history — with Curry leading the way.

“Promise to all the Warrior fans…we will figure this thing out…if it’s the last thing we do we will figure it out,” Steph Curry posted on Twitter (now X) in 2009.

Bueckers Joins Exclusive List After Reaching 600+ Points

Despite the Dallas Wings’ shaky form, Paige Bueckers has written her name into the history books after becoming one of the top five fastest players to ever hit 600+ points in the WNBA. The Dallas guard reached the milestone in the matchup against the Atlanta Dream on Friday, despite battling illness. The Wings lost 100-78, but Bueckers’ performance stood out as one of the brightest moments of the night.

The 23-year-old recovered to produce an impressive double-double, scoring 16 points and providing 10 assists. Bueckers has remained a key figure despite facing injuries and illnesses of her own. On top of that, she has recorded more 10+ assist games than all other rookies combined this season. This shows her rare combination of scoring and distributing, making her a star who already performs at an All-WNBA level. Across the league, coaches, analysts, and fans have sparked conversations about awards and honors, calling for Bueckers to make the All-WNBA First Team, the All-Rookie Team, and win Rookie of the Year.
