Week three of the 2026 WNBA season included many strong player performances. Some put up career high numbers, while others broke records. Let’s take a look at some of the most notable players from week three.
Top Performances From Week 3 of the 2026 WNBA Season
Azzi Fudd
Azzi Fudd was this year’s first overall pick in the WNBA draft and recently had her breakout game. As the Dallas Wings faced the New York Liberty, Fudd had a stellar shooting performance in her first WNBA start. She scored a career-high 24 points on 6-for-12 shooting from 3-point range. Fudd broke a franchise record for the most 3-pointers made by a rookie (six) as well as a WNBA record for the most threes made in a quarter (five). The former UConn guard shot 60% from the floor. This performance was impressive and gave Fudd momentum going into the next game against another top team.
In a tough battle against the Las Vegas Aces on May 28, Fudd finished with 22 points on the night, sharing the top scoring honors with teammate Jessica Shepard. Fudd shot 60% from the floor again, helping lead the Wings to back-to-back victories.
Jessica Shepard
Speaking of Shepard, she has found a new home with the Dallas Wings. After being traded from the Minnesota Lynx during the offseason, Shepard has had a career year thus far. The forward is averaging 12.6 points, 11 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. In the aforementioned contest against the Aces, Shepard recorded her second triple-double of the season and broke a WNBA record in the process. Shepard became the first player in WNBA history to record a 22-point, 20-rebound, 10-assist triple-double.
With the season barely being a quarter of the way done, there is a strong chance for the forward to earn more triple-doubles. Shepard has been a key player for the Wings and will help them maintain their consistent, strong start to the season.
Veronica Burton
Veronica Burton was the WNBA’s Most Improved Player last season. She has started off this season strong with the Golden State Valkyries. Burton was the hero in a close game against the Indiana Fever on May 28, putting up a season-high 25 points. She also had six rebounds, three assists and a steal.
One of the most impressive pieces to her stat line was the five blocks she recorded in the game. Burton’s balance of offense and defense is crucial for the Valkyries. She has found herself as the team’s leader and is a big contributor to their success.
Aneesah Morrow
The second-year player out of LSU has been averaging a double-double on the season. Aneesah Morrow has already recorded eight double-doubles in the Connecticut Sun’s first eleven games. On May 30 against the Los Angeles Sparks, she tallied 17 points, 14 rebounds and two assists, along with two steals and a block. This performance helped power the Sun to just their second win of the season.
In the next game against a strong rebounding team in the Atlanta Dream, Morrow finished with 20 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists in the loss. Not only can she score, but her rebounding abilities help create second-chance opportunities for her team.
Olivia Miles
The rookie out of TCU has been proving how good she really is. Prior to the season starting, people were concerned about how the Minnesota Lynx would be without their star leader, Napheesa Collier. Olivia Miles has been the main reason why the Lynx are in first place this season. The rookie is playing as if she was a veteran in the league, putting up a balanced effort of scoring, playmaking and defense.
On May 27 against the Atlanta Dream, Miles put up 16 points, five rebounds, eight assists and a steal. Against the Chicago Sky two nights later, Miles finished with 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Both performances helped lead the Lynx to back-to-back victories.
