Spencer’s Best Bets for Baseball: July 26th

Blake Snell put a damper on what was an otherwise wonderful night of Best Bets. The San Diego Padres performed admirably securing a 5-1 over the Pittsburgh Pirates, exacting their revenge. It must be said that Snell pitched admirably as well. The only problem is he was unable to find control of the strike zone, coughing up more walks (5) than strikeouts (4). Killing our largest wager of the night.

On the flip side, we batted .500 on our Dinger Tuesday picks! Starting things off, the greatest Bo since Bo Jackson went yard twice, and Freddie Freeman sent out a long ball in his very first at-bat. In addition, the bats were alive across the league last night. Gaining us an extra $55 of free bets for the home runs hit in the selected games. We have baseball starting bright and early with an afternoon slate today, so let’s jump right in.

On to Today’s Best Bets!

Mariners @ Twins

In our first game today the Minnesota Twins host the Seattle Mariners for the third and final game of this three game set. Coming into today, the series is split at 1-1. With the Mariners stealing last night’s game late in the top of the 9th. Joe Ryan takes the mound for the home team this evening and will look to secure a much needed series win. His strikeout line is at 7.5, a number that he has surpassed in eight of his starts so far this season. I like him to get another one here against a Mariners lineup that has struck out 10+ times in their past three games.

The Pick: Joe Ryan Over 7.5 Ks (+104) 1U

Orioles @ Phillies

For our second play of the day we are headed back to Philadelphia. Targeting what has been a rollercoaster of a series between the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies. Both games in the series thus far have been decided by a single run. The Orioles winning the first game, and the Phillies taking the second. Now, tonight’s matchup features a clash between starting pitchers Ranger Suarez and Kyle Bradish. These are not exactly two guys that come to mind when “Aces” are discussed. However, there is a clear edge to the Orioles and Bradish. 6-5 vs. 2-5 record, 3.05 vs. 4.07 ERA, 92:25 vs. 67:27 K:BB. We will be rolling with Bradish and the O’s

The picks: Orioles F5 ML (-104) 1U

Ranger Suarez Over 1.5 Walks (-155) .5U

Additional Best Bets

Tony Gonsolin Over 1.5 Walks (-130) 0.5U

Josh Naylor 1+ RBI (-110) 0.25U
