Spencer’s Best Bets for Baseball: July 24th

If we could use two words to sum up our Best Bets Friday Extravaganza, they would be: NEVER AGAIN! While it was certainly fun to have bets going for the entire slate, it is not even remotely sustainable. Maybe it is something we can bring back for the end of the season or playoffs. Okay, time to step off my soap box, and get on with today’s slate.

On to Today’s Best Bets!

Orioles @ Phillies

For our first play of today, we are headed to Citizens Bank Park for the first game of a three-game set between the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies. The Orioles will look to continue their stretch of dominance, fresh off a series win against the then AL-Best Tampa Bay Rays. Past performance on the road would indicate that the O’s have the edge despite the tough environment Philly provides. Winning an impressive 31 of 49 games on the road this season, and they will be led tonight by a pitcher that knows how to win. Despite his mediocre 4.80 ERA, Dean Kremer is tied for the second-most wins in the bigs with ten. I like Kremer to get the job done tonight.

The Pick: Orioles F5 ML (+102) 1U

The Fun Pick: Adley Rutschman 2+ Bases (+110) 0.5U

Mariners @ Twins

In our second play of the day, we travel to the home of the Mall of America and Kirk Cousins. Target Field is the venue for tonight’s matchup between the Seattle Mariners and the Minnesota Twins. The stand-out play of this bout involves a pitcher hailing from Japan, but he is not Ohtani. Kenta Maeda is our man for this evening, and he’ll have an excellent opportunity to do what he does best, strike guys out. Maeda enters tonight with an adjusted K% of 32.3%, meanwhile, the Mariners’ lineup he will be facing owns an adjusted K% of 27%. So, what we have is a guy that loves to strike people out and a lineup that loves to strike out. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

The Pick: SGP Kenta Maeda 6+ Ks & Seattle Mariners +3.5 Alt Run Line (-117) 1U

Additional Fun Picks:

José Ramírez 1+ RBI (+110) 0.5U

2+ Bases Parlay Amed Rosario & Christian Yelich (+285) 0.25U
