2017 Season

Morrow is coming off of a fantastic year where he pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2017, the relief pitcher posted a 2.06 ERA and a .916 WHIP. Morrow was also able to collect two saves, six wins and zero losses while pitching out of the bullpen for the Dodgers. His stellar performance with the Dodgers helped take Los Angeles to the postseason where he pitched against his new team in the National League Championship Series. Against Chicago, Morrow was stellar. He pitched in four games and and did not allow a single earned run, while collecting seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

Unfortunately, Morrow was not as good in the World Series. He pitched in all seven games in a losing effort to the Houston Astros and had a 8.44 ERA and a 1.688 WHIP.

Chicago Cubs

Brandon Morrow will undoubtedly be a great addition to the Cubs bullpen. Though Morrow has a relatively high career ERA (4.05), he has been fantastic the last three years. Before coming to Los Angeles, Morrow pitched for the San Diego Padres for two season, and had a 2.39 ERA while with the Friars with 31 strikeouts.

The Cubs will certainly need the help as their bullpen struggled in the postseason this year. Morrow will join Tyler Chatwood as new additions to the Cubs bullpen as Chicago recently signed Chatwood to a three-year deal.

The Cubs will be hopeful that their reformed bullpen will help them return to the World Series in 2018, after falling short in the NLCS in 2017.
