Super Rugby Quarter Final - Crusaders v Highlanders

Someone at SANZAAR is under fire. At a time when their competition is reaching it’s zenith, they seem to be more concerned with pleasing their regional parties, than choosing the brightest and best from within the competition. Their Sanzaar Team of the Week is wholly representative of form, and is being questioned by punters and […]

Michael Pulman - Jul 26, 2017

Super Rugby Quarter Final - Crusaders v Highlanders

If fans were looking forward to some high-scoring, and exhilarating action for the Super Rugby 2017 Quarterfinals, then they might feel slightly short-changed. They had action sure, but where was the high-scoring, fast-paced action that fans are so used to? The truth is, knockout rugby necessitates a more strategic plan. Super Rugby Rd 2 - Highlanders v Hurricanes

Recent news has only added to the major distraction, as local and offshore player signings continue to demonstrate the pitfalls of professional rugby. They came, they saw, they conquered in style as Fiji retains Pacific Nations Cup in Apia, Samoa. It was a very entertaining game in front of a vocal crowd that turned up to witness Fiji turn on the after burners to blitz the hosts away. Fiji walloped the helpless hosts 38-16 with only the boot […]

Michael Pulman - Jul 15, 2017

The fact is, since the Chiefs beat Brumbies, the Hurricanes did their fellow New Zealand team no favours. As they beat the Crusaders, it makes for a tougher quarter final schedule.
The Chiefs have no choice but to accept the fact that in order to win the title; they’ll have to do it away from home base. It doesn’t get any tougher than a trip to Newlands, but that is exactly what will be required.
