At Wrestle Grand Slam, Dangerous Tekkers won the IWGP Tag Team Championship for the third time by defeating Tetsuya Naito and SANADA. Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr. had lost the championship at Summer Struggle two weeks ago, so winning them back so quickly has to have them feeling good. The win came when Sabre Jr. pinned Naito out of nowhere to shock everyone after nearly 40 minutes of action.
Dangerous Tekkers are hoping for a more successful run this time around as their second reign only lasted 40 days before they dropped them to Naito and SANADA. Their first reign, which had ended at Wrestle Kingdom 15 earlier this year, lasted 176 days. The win came as a shock seeing that Naito and SANADA had held the titles for such a short time.
After the match, Naito and SANADA nearly issued a rematch much like the Dangerous Tekkers had done when they lost the titles, but the team of Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI also walked out to make clear that they want next as well. Time will tell as to whether it gets the first crack at the new champions.
